Less than a week after it’s release, Teni the entertainer’s debut studio album, Wondaland has gathered an accumulated stream of over 15 million across all platforms
Teni’s new album is a follow up to her 2019 commercially successful EP – Billionaire
This 17-track Wondaland album was made across 7 cities; London, New York, Dubai, Orlando, Ondo, Lagos, and Abuja, in a span of two years.
The album which features only Davido, is another testament to the 28-year old’s expert lyricism and fantastic vocals.
album is produced by Pheelz, Damayo, Tempoe, P.Prime, Millamix, Krizbeatz, and Ozedikus.
“The debut album showcases Teni’s talents for songwriting, and masterful ease with subgenres from afropop to emo-trap, and house to highlife. Performed in Yoruba, English and pidgin,” the editors’ notes read.
“Wondaland is a manifestation of Teni’s strength and confidence as entertainer-in-chief.”
In an interview with Apple Music, the singer said: “I wanted to do an album that anyone from my mother’s hometown in Ondo, or my dad’s in Ekiti—even to Osaka, Japan—can pick up and be entertained, inspired and educated.
“You can’t record your debut album again, so I ensured Wondaland will be that album I would listen to in 20 years, and it would still sound just as fresh.”
